Membership Application

Gig Harbor Kennel Club proudly donates to the following causes:

• Kitsap Humane Society;
• Tacoma - Pierce County Humane Society; 
• Take The Lead; 
• Rabies Challenge Fund;
•  FISH;
• National Animal Interest Alliance;
• AKC Canine Legislation Foundation; and,
• Mason County 4-H Club.

One of our major projects is the donation of dog food to our local Gig Harbor FISH Food Bank so all family members, even the four legged ones, are helped!

Community Involvement

Members have visited many schools and nursing homes in the past.

One of our members with a registered therapy dog works with children learning to read. More information on this summer program will be coming shortly.

What We Do

Located in Gig Harbor, Washington, we are a non-profit, all breed dog club that incorporated in 1982.

We are an AKC licensed member all breed club. Our primary objective is to do all in our power to protect and further the interests of all breeds of purebred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at all dog events.

Our club holds AKC events at which AKC titles may be earned, and we have an AKC Delegate who represents the club at quarterly meetings of the delegate body. 

Gig Harbor Kennel Club sponsors many dog centered activities each year, inclding an all breed dog show accompanied by a Canine Good Citizen Test, Rally competition and an Obedience Trial every year, an AKC sponsored fun match every summer, and a three day Agility trial. 

We further the sport of purebred dogs and strive to promote and protect dogs in our communities by sharing in educational programs, and sponsoring training classes and health clinics.

Our members support the rescue network for their individual breeds, as well as providing a responsible breeder locator service.

Our club usually meets the second Thursday evening.

We offer classes for Learning/Honing Handling Skills and Puppy Socialization every Tuesday evening.
